Founder/Program Director

Esther Yu

Esther started learning musical instruments since young. She believes music can build one's confidence and perseverance, as well as artistic and humanistic sense. The ensemble experience may also connect people in a way that transcends language. Esther obtained a BSSc. in Communication, a BA in Music (1st hon.) and a MPhil. in Musicology from the Hong Kong Baptist University. She then joined the music education industry after graduation, and has organized and coordinated music training programs for various primary and secondary schools.

Founder/Managing Director

Brad Lee

Brad started learning erhu since young and won championships from the erhu, gaohu and banhu categories of the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival. He graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic IUniversity and Chinese University of Hong Kong with BA degree in Hotel Management and MA degree in Cultural Studies respectively. In 2008, he founded Qin Music and has enaged into the music retail and educaiton industry. Under his leadership, Qin Music has already become the supplier of various schools and organizations, as well as the distributor of renowed brands.

Lam Lai

Lam Lai was born in Hong Kong and now lives and works as a composer in the Netherlands. She is pasisonate in music education since she was studying her master degree at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and teacing the Academy's junior music program. Over the years, she has participated in the compilation of MPHK teaching materials and the planning of concert activities.

Business Development Officer

Toby Cheung

Graduated with a BA degree in Cultural Heritage Management from the City University of Hong Kong, Toby has devoted her career to children arts activities. She is currently responsible for the operation of MPHK courses and planning of concerts, exchange activities and tours.

Jason Lau

Jason joined Qin Music throught the internship program when he was an undergraduate at the City University of Hong Kong, majored in Cultural Heritage Management. He is devoted to music education and arts management after graduation.

Nevaeh Wong

Nevaeh has been an active French Horn player since her seconadry life. Besides working for MPHK, she is currently studying at the Education University of Hong Kong, major in education administration.

Lily Cheung

Lily started to learn clarinet at MPHK course taken place at her primary school. She then continued to play clarinet, obtained Grade 8, and had been an active ensemble player. She joined Qin Music and contributed to the program with her first-hand learning experience.

Kennex Choi

As a mother, Kennex witnessed the music learning journey of her daughter, who started playing flute since P1 at a MPHK partner school. Her daugter never gives up playing flute until now. Kennex would serve and support teaching associates and parents with her first-hand experience.

Music Professional Qualifications

• Graduated from a music school in Hong Kong or overseas • Or a Diploma in Performance from the Royal Academy of Music / Trinity College of Music / Central Conservatory of Music • Or Grade 8 Performance from the Royal Academy of Music / Trinity College of Music / Grade 9 from Central Conservatory of Music, and have more than five years of teaching experience

Teaching requirements

• Have enthusiasm for work, identify with and be willing to practice teaching philosophy • Maintain a happy learning environment and use praise to stimulate learning motivation
• Familiarize yourself with the instructor's manual for this course and apply the teaching methods • Manage the classroom properly • Keep the classroom clean
• On-time attendance rate of more than 90% throughout the year
• Comply with the school's tutor code • Fill out a teaching log for each class, reporting the teaching content and individual student conditions • Have a letter issued by the "Sexual Offense Conviction Record Checking Mechanism" and have not committed any sexual offenses
